The truth is —
An inscription tells you it existed. It doesn’t tell you why it mattered.
About us
EternaQR helps families, communities, and organizations preserve the stories that matter most. Through digital profiles connected to QR plaques, anyone can discover memories, history, and stories that deserve to be remembered for generations.
An example —
This is what a scan opens.
Eleanor Hayes is an example we built to show what a finished profile looks like. Yours will hold your own photographs, your own words, and the memories other people add.
Open it to see the whole page — and what yours could hold.
Everything the inscription left out.
A picture, before a word.
The first thing anyone sees when they scan. The face you remember, or the photograph that shows what it was.
Their story, in your words.
As much space as you need. Write it once, revise it forever.
Photographs that tell the rest.
Up to ten, reordered until the sequence feels right. Enough to tell it; few enough that each one earns its place.
Moments, in order.
Where they were born. The year the line closed. The day the doors first opened to the public. The moments that made them, in the order they happened.
For what you didn't know.
Visitors can share their own memories — a story from a co-worker, a note from someone who rode it as a child. You approve what appears.
And not only for people.
A locomotive that carried passengers for forty years and now sits still. A bench with a name on it and nothing else. A building that has been four different things. If it has a story, it can have a profile.
Three quiet steps.
Write the story
The name, the photographs, everything you know. Take an evening. Take a month. You can always come back to add more.
Their story
My mother kept everyone’s stories but her own. She wrote down what her friends told her over dinner, the small things he…

Scan to remember
Place it. Share it.
On the headstone. Bolted to the cab of a locomotive. Beside a statue in a park. Anywhere a name deserves more than a name. Anyone who scans arrives at the whole story.

Scan to remember
Made to live outdoors.
The code itself is generated at a high error-correction level, so roughly a quarter of it can be scratched, scuffed, or weathered away and a phone will still read it.
Guaranteed for five years
If the plaque fails, or the code stops scanning, we replace it. Not because a plaque is expensive to remake, but because a code that cannot be read means the profile cannot be reached from the marker itself — and that is the one failure this whole thing exists to prevent.
Covers sun, rain, snow, ice, and normal seasonal weather. It does not cover vandalism, physical damage, or improper handling.
- Size
- 3 x 3 inches — discreet on a headstone or an exhibit, easy to scan
- Material

Our mission
Our mission is to preserve memories, honor lives, and protect history by keeping meaningful stories accessible for future generations.
Every person has a story. Every place has a history. We are here to make sure they are never forgotten.
Shine a light
Every story deserves to be seen
Not everyone worth remembering has someone to write it down. A neighbor, a monument nobody explains, a name on a plaque — tell us, and we’ll look into it.
Tell us who they were and why they stayed with you. Someone here reads every one.
Submit a StoryQuestions we’re often asked.
- Is this really permanent?
- We intend these profiles to last a lifetime. That is the whole point of EternaQR, and we are building for it — the QR code points to a redirect we control, so the plaque keeps working even if the site changes. What we will not do is promise you a specific number of years, because any young company that does is guessing. What we will commit to: if we ever had to stop, you would get at least 90 days’ notice and a complete copy of everything — the words and the full-size photographs — in a form you can keep and publish elsewhere.
- What happens if I want to change something?
- You can edit any profile you own, forever. Add new photos as they surface. Rewrite the story when you find the right words. Profiles live and grow the way memories do.
- Who can see the profile?
- Anyone with the URL or the QR code — that is the point. If you would prefer, you can keep the profile private while you build it, and publish it when it is ready to be shared.
- Can visitors add their own memories?
- Yes. Anyone who scans the QR can share a memory — a story, a note, something they want you to know. You approve what appears, so nothing goes public without your consent.
- Is it appropriate? Will it feel strange to my family?
- For many families, it feels like the opposite. A tombstone leaves so much unsaid. A memorial gives the grandchildren who never met their great-grandmother a way to know her. It gives the friend who could not attend the funeral a place to share something. It is not a replacement for anything — it is an addition, and a quiet one.
- How much does it cost?
- Nothing yet. The engraved plaque is not on sale while we are getting started, so the online profile and its QR code are free. We will write to you well before anything is ever charged for.

- What about the marker?
- The engraved marker is coming. The QR code itself is already yours — download it, print it, and it keeps working even if everything behind it changes.
- Is it private? Is it permanent?
- Yours to edit forever. Keep it private while you build it, and nothing a visitor shares appears without your approval.
